The task was to design a new experience for WWF to help drive donations using emerging technology. I used Google's Material design guidelines to drive my aesthetics and focused on creating meaningful animations to inform & delight users.

After conducting competitive research and doing a brand analaysis on the World Wildlife Fund I moved into the concepting stage and began developing ideas for the project. I initially gravitated towards the idea of an app that centers around Virtual Reality content because it serves to augment user empathy. VR is a medium that illicits visceral reactions and seemed to fit perfectly to encourage donations to WWF.
With this concept in mind I developed a set of features and moved into determining the user flow. The diagram below shows how the app progresses through each screen and the content that can be found under each main category.
Creating paper prototypes allowed me to find flaws within my design and to see how people would actually interact with the interfaces I had designed. The main thing that I learned from creating these prototypes was that the interface for the explore mode was too complicated and needed further refinement to guide users more effectively.
The resulting app both meets the branding guidelines of the World Wildlife Fund and incorporates a donation tab that encourages donation by unlocking new experiences after meeting a certain dollar amount.
